We rode back from Smith Mountain Lake in the morning with my dad and Corinne. After returning home, we showered, grabbed some Popeyes, and hopped on the Metro to head downtown. We parked ourselves on the mall in between the Capital and the Washington Monument to enjoy our dinner and wait for the show.
I love watching fireworks. My favorite is when you can lie down and watch them explode in the air above you. We had to sit up to see the fireworks this year, but we still enjoyed every moment.
