Seven Springs

For our two year anniversary, Steve planned a trip for us to go to Seven Springs in Pennsylvania (keeping with the tradition he started last year - we went to Wisp Ski Resort for our one year anniversary). Steve had booked a condo for us for two nights to get away, enjoy some snow, time with each other, and time to watch some more episodes from the third season of Lost (I'm a bit behind). We arrived and followed signs to where we thought we should go...we drove all the way up a mountain to some condos and figured out we needed to drive down to the resort to check in. We drove back down, got our keys, drove back up the mountain and neither of our keys worked. Off we were to drive back down the mountain, fix our key situation, drive back UP the mountain and check out our place. We both walked in and silently looked around, looked at each other, looked around... Knowing Steve had planned a nice trip for us, I put on a smile and said this is nice. However, after talking it out, we decided it just wasn't what we were expecting and for the money he paid, it wasn't okay. We proceeded to drive back down the mountain to ask if there were any possibility we could switch to the hotel. They told us it was booked, but then decided they had a room for our first night, but not the second - okay, we'll take it! We went up to our hotel room and it was beautiful. A huge, comfy bed, a nice TV, a great view, just lovely.

We had dinner and enjoyed our night. Saturday, we had to pack our bags and back up to the condo we went. Don't get me wrong, the condo was okay, it just wasn't for us. You mostly pay for a full kitchen, which we didn't need for our weekend visit. The condos are also nice for when you are with a group of people, a group of skiers at that. The condos are at the top of the mountain and you can walk out your back door and ski down the slopes. Again, great, but we weren't skiing.

On Saturday afternoon, we went on a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the woods in the beautiful snow.

Saturday night, we went snow tubing and had a blast together. They have a moving sidewalk that you can ride up the hill, which we used most of the time because it was faster, but here is Steve going up the hill on the pulley. The pulley was fun because you could just relax in your tube and ride up the hill. We chose to use the moving sidewalk most of the time though to maximize our time on the "slopes."

And lastly, a beautiful frozen waterfall we drove by every time we went up and down the mountain.
Overall, it was a great trip with lots of quality time together. Thanks, Steve!
