The weekend before Halloween, we went camping in the Shenandoah mountains for the second year in a row. I'm hoping this becomes an annual tradition. Although I could do with just a little warmer weather next time.

When we woke up Saturday morning, it was pouring rain. We all decided to still head to the campsite and see what happened. It rained our entire drive up to the campsite, but as soon as we pulled in, the rain stopped!

We set up camp and ventured out on a short little hike. For dinner we cooked lamb kabobs.

For some reason, we had a bit more trouble getting our fire going this year. Jewels was the best with the paper plate.

We enjoyed delicious smores by the campfire while playing a fun game of categories. While Steve didn't have any crazy headaches this year, we did endure some cold temperatures. Much colder than we anticipated. So cold, that upon returning home, Steve announced he was getting rid of his sleeping bag because it didn't keep him warm.

We cooked pancakes and bacon over the campfire for breakfast before heading home.

While driving down the mountain, we came upon some "traffic." After wondering why all the cars were stopped and people were lining the roads, we pulled up and saw this:

Unfortunately, I had some crazy allergy attack in the morning and the drive home wasn't super fun, but we did have a great time camping again and look forward to next year!
