Sam & Kate's Wedding
Sunday, June 7, 2009
The last weekend of May, Steve and I traveled up to Wilmington, Delaware for Sam and Kate's wedding. On Friday afternoon, the boys all played golf and Steve sent me to a spa for a manicure and massage :-) We stayed at Hotel DuPont, where the wedding and reception took place.
Friday evening we attended the rehearsal dinner at Cafe Mezzanote. It was rainy Friday night walking to the rehearsal dinner, but it turned out to be absolutely beautiful on Saturday.
Cocktail hour at the rehearsal dinner

Sam's mom (who was also our teacher in high school!) reading her speech. I cried. Steve is now afraid for our wedding. Ha!
On Saturday, Steve and I were finally able to enjoy a day of sleeping in as long as we wanted. We woke up and walked around the city a little. It was a little scary though because there are some bad areas of town really close to the hotel. We couldn't walk very far. We were looking for a cute little deli to have lunch at, but everything was closed, so we settled for Subway. Then we sat in a park where we were able to watch Sam and Kate have their first look. It was so very cute. The entire wedding party loaded on a party bus to go take some pictures elsewhere. Once they left, we started getting ready for the wedding festivities for the night.
All (8!) of the groomsmen

The reception was a blast! They had a mashed potato bar during the cocktail hour that was SO delicious! They had a band that was awesome and we all had an amazing time.
